Result of India-Iran Joint Call for Proposals-2018
A joint call for proposal under India-Iran Bilateral Scientific and Technological Cooperation was issued by the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) of the Islamic Republic of Iran for inviting Indian and Iranian scientists to submit their proposals for joint research projects in the following areas: Biotechnology and Human Health (focusing on improvement in crop productivity, transgenic crops, microbial biotechnology with emphasis on cellulosic biofuel and microbial diversity and bio prospecting; Molecular Medicine focusing on research on stem cell, cancer, tropical and infectious diseases; Animal Biotechnology (reproductive and nutrition) and Water resources management. Overall, 92 joint proposals were received following this Call; however, only 72 proposals were submitted in both Secretariats.
DST and MSRT jointly agreed to fund the following 12 high-ranking projects in the areas of Human Health, Animal Biotechnology, Agri-biotechnology and water to strengthen and expand relations between the two scientific communities. Project coordinators are being informed separately to complete administrative formalities to release the grant from authorized sectors in their own countries.
