Iran and India hold the 1st Joint Committee Meeting

The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) of the I.R. of Iran and the Department of Science and Technology of the Republic of India held their 1st Joint-Committee Meeting, on 12th December. The meeting was held in the MSRT, following the visit of the Indian Minister in May 2016, and signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries.

Prof. Kafi, the chancellor of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad chaired the meeting, where his Indian counterpart, Dr. Mitra, Advisor of the Minister of Education and Technology, Representatives of the Indian embassy in Tehran, financial ambassador of India, and India’s Nodal Officer for the Iranian Desk were present.

In this meeting, both sides presented an overview of the existing scientific cooperation between the two countries, and discussed the role of Science and Technology committee on the current, future and possible frameworks of cooperation; where supporting Joint-Venture Research project, holding Joint workshops and training programmes were amongst the main fields of discussion in this meeting.

This meeting ended, by signing the agreed minutes of the meeting, where holding 10 Joint-Venture Projects, 2 joint workshops, 2 training programs and one meeting in 2017-2018, on ‘Information Communication Technology’, ‘Life Sciences and Bio-technology’, ‘Energy and Renewable Energy’, ‘Water Resource Management ‘, ‘Material Science and Technology’, and ‘Aerospace Science and Technology, and their applications’ were noted as the main conclusions of this meeting.
